It has a deseriable skin, has perfect mods (r9,8,7, a +30 somewhere and then a perfect whatever else) or is just a rare item.

Just check high end sell section if you need to see examples of rare weps

describe 'high end'..
things such as un-inscribable weapons/shields etc, but have max inscriptions e.g. 15^50 can be worth a lot.. although a lot of it depends on the skin, in fact.. most of it, depends on the skin. But as a general guideline... Low reqs, max damage, uninscribable but still max inscriptions, gold.. help towards a items worth.

It's mainly from experience and looking in the highend thread or in kamadan.

High End is for selling items or "packages" with a value ABOVE 100k each.

If you are not sure of the value of your item, you can either try a search and see if other users have sold something similar or you can get a Price Check

If you have any questions regarding Ventari, feel free to PM one of the mods.

When I get a drop and I'm not sure the value, I go to the guru auction site first to get an idea of what they are typically selling for. That is a good place to start. If you don't find what you are looking for on the auction site then just do a forum search and you should get some hits where someone has previously requested a price check or sold the item for XXXX gold.

It would be too time consuming to list all the items that are high end. If it come from a dungeon end chest or elite area end chest (FOW/UW/DOA, etc) then there is a chance that the item is high end. If you get something from these areas then check the auction site before selling. The Z-chest can also drop high end items.

Just remimber to use the auction site and forum search. That should help you more than anything.

High end items tend to be ones with extremely unique skins that have an extremely low chance of dropping from the end chests of dungeons and elite areas. Because they are so hard to acquire while at the same time looking desirable, people are willing to pay a lot of money for them as a way of showing off to their friends and random people they encounter.

high end items, normally tend to be perfect modded, things that drop very rarely in places like hall of monument, underworld and fissure of woe.

Plus, things that are in high demand relative to the scarcity of the item, sometimes, pushes the item above 100K. The best way to determine this is to check out the "High End" forum, here, at Guru. You can peruse the posts and see what people are paying for an item. Also, see what people are trying to buy in Kamadan. After a while, you will know what things are going for.

There is a whole class of items that aren't being made anymore, that were available early in the game that aren't available now, as a normal drop, like the HoD sword or a Req 8 Chaos Axe, uninscribable with a 15^50 mod. There is a whole group of people who just collect these items, so, there is a market for them.

You, also, need to keep checking prices because the demand changes and the price goes up and down.

As Messy stated... "high-end" refers to items worth 100k and above, at least according to the criteria for the High End Forum in Ventari's. As far as whether your item is worth 100k, you may need to ask around before trying to sell it, or check Vebtari's to see if anyone else is selling one, or use the price check forum for some guidance.

On a related note...

I can't even understand the shorthand used to describe weapons for sale. Anyone care to elaborate, especially on the use of "^"? I know req is probably 'require' such as Req 9 fire, but a lot of it's a mystery.

Thanks.

15^50 = +15% damage while health is above 50%
20/20 = Sundering mod that's 20% chance to have +20% armor penetration. Also can be either a 20% HCT/HSR wand or offhand
+30 = has +30 health
15/-1 = +15 energy, -1 energy regen
